Pictured here, a superb desk and chair by Pierre Chareau, c. 1927. This outstanding rare example by the artist was exhibited at the Centre Georges Pompidou in the retrospective, "Pierre Chareau Architecte, un Art Intérieur" and appears on page 149 of the accompanying monograph. A similar version of this desk was designed for Doctor Jean Dalsace, the original owner of the Maison de Verre. The Jewish Museum of New York will celebrate Pierre Chareau with the first U.S. exhibition of the French designer's work, opening on November 4, 2016.
